Under the authority of the Board of Commissioners, the Lake County Building Department is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the applicable local and State of Ohio Building codes for residential, commercial, and industrial construction in its Jurisdiction  These Building Codes provide the department's inspectors with guidelines to help ensure the health and welfare of the residents. Certified by the State of Ohio, the Building Department provides Building Plan Reviews, Inspection Services, Structural Building Code information, Electrical Code information, and Heating/Air Conditioning Code information.
