Severe

Level 4, the highest level of National Emergency Threats color coded (RED) is Severe Risk of Terrorists attacks. All threat risks are color coded for easier immediate recognition.  The highest national level is red. The Protective Measures for a Severe Condition are not intended to be sustained for substantial periods of time. In addition to all the other levels of protective actions, this would add:

  • Assigning emergency response personnel and pre-positioning and assigning specially trained teams or resources.

  • Monitoring, redirecting or constraining transportation systems.

  • Closing public and government facilities.

  • Increasing or redirecting personnel to address critical emergency needs.
