ADULT ADOPTION

Procedure:

  • The Consent to Adoption MUST be notarized.  At the time of the filing we require a CERTIFIED copy of the birth certificate.
  • Finalizations are approximately 30-45 days after the filing of the Petition.  Petitioner(s) and the person to be adopted MUST be here the day of the hearing.
  • Hearing notices only go to the Petitioner(s).  Additional fees are requested at the hearing for new birth certificates.

$131.15 filing fee
$16.50 for each new birth certificate requested (this is for Ohio only; please contact the court for other state’s fees). Payment must be made the day of the hearing. You will not receive your Final Order of Adoption until payment is received.
