BENEFITS

When community members choose to become a volunteer visitor, they are choosing to have a profound impact on the community.  Volunteer visitors give seniors the opportunity for companionship and to socialize.  Such human interaction can mean all the world to the wards who are often residing in nursing homes and group homes.  Volunteers also ensure that wards are being properly cared for and guarantee that wards maintain a high quality of life.

Not only do the elderly of the community benefit from this program, but the volunteer visitors benefit as well.  Through visiting elderly members of the community, visitors gain valuable experience and can explore possible career alternatives.  Visitors experience personal growth as they know they are making a difference.
