INCOMPETENT ADULT GUARDIANSHIP OF ESTATE

Procedure:

  • Application for Appointment of Guardian must include names of next-of-kin and a Statement of Expert Evaluation.
  • Statement of Expert Evaluation must be original and filed with the application.
  • Hearing will be scheduled, and an investigator will be sent to serve notice of the hearing to the ward.
  • After the Letter of Guardianship is issued, an inventory is due within three months from the date of appointment.
  • An account is due 1 year from date of appointment.
  • Visitor reports are due every sixty days.
  • A Guardian’s Report and Statement of Expert Evaluation are due every January.
