The Lake 2 Corridor: Phase II,
Modernization & Lane Addition Update

Route 2 Modernization & Lane Addition, Eastlake, Mentor, Willoughby
The Lost Nation Road southbound entrance ramp to SR 2 westbound
has reopened. Stevens Blvd. has also reopened between Ben
Hur Ave. and E. 365th Street. On SR 2, traffic in
Stage One between Lost Nation Road and Newell Creek/SR 306 has been
shifted on to the new SR 2 eastbound pavement. The SR 2 westbound exit
ramp to Lost Nation Road remains closed through mid-December. Motorists
may detour via Vine and Erie Streets. The SR 2 westbound exit ramp to
SR 306 north and southbound is also closed until approximately
mid-December. Motorists may detour via SR 615 and Mentor Avenue. The
Lost Nation Road northbound entrance ramp to SR 2 westbound will remain
closed through the winter months into late spring 2010. Motorists may
detour via Lost Nation Road southbound to Erie St. southbound to Vine
St. westbound. The Vine Street eastbound entrance ramp to SR 2
westbound remains closed until the spring of 2010. Motorists may detour
via SR 91. Through the fall of 2010, Lost Nation Road traffic will be
maintained with one lane in each direction between Wood Road and
Riverside Commons and Reeves Road remains closed at Lost Nation Road.
The detour is set utilizing Hurricane Drive. The entire three-stage
project rehabilitates SR 2 and adds a lane between SR 91 and Newell
Creek/SR 306. Tentative completion date: October 2011.
